I finally made another panograph and yes it's from disneyland again but this time of Sleeping Beauty Castle. I think this one turned out pretty well. click the image to be taken to flickr site where you can see a larger version.

Amy and I went to California Adventure the other night and the Electrical Parade was just starting. It had been a while since I actually stopped and watched a parade and it was a treat.

This panoramic is of Disneyland's Main Street facing the castle (can't see it from this angle). Disney does a great job of decorating the park for each holiday. Click the image to go the my flickr page and view a larger size.
Amy and I went to Disneyland last night and I brought along my camera; This panoramic of It's a Small World is 4 images stitched together. It looks great in a larger size; click the photo to go to the flickr site and view a larger version.

If you ever go to the Kalalau Lookout on Kauai make sure you walk the extra 3/4 mile for an even better view; we were lucky and saw the view about 2 mins before it was covered in clouds but the weather moves so fast i think it would be worth the wait if you get up there and it's cloudy to wait 30-40 mins just in case it changes. I cant to go there again some day.

This might have been around a little while but it's new to me! :) Google Images has a new thing called Image Labeler that has two people view an image at the same time and you type in tags that describe the image until both people have a matching word. it's neat and each session only lasts 90 seconds so there is no long term commitment; if you feel like doing it again just click the start button and it starts all over. I had a few images that didn't match until entering over 10 tags...lol...not everyone sees the same thing while looking at a photo.
here is the link: http://images.google.com/imagelabeler/
oh google keeps score too!

Well not really a jackpot but still fealt great to get triple double diamonds; it paid out 2500 points. I was in a slot tournament last weekend at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. It was a first time for me and I enjoyed it a lot; fealt like playing a video game. Some people were doing a lot of button mashing with too much arm movement; my many years of video game experience came to good use and all I did was alternate between 2 fingers. I didn't win the tournament or even get close to winning but I will certainly go for it again in the future.
One of the waterfalls at the Flamingo i Las Vegas. I always forget to take my tripod with me; well Amy might not want to walk around with me if i had my camera and tripod...lol. There was a nice flat surface for me to place the camera onto and i think the photo turned out great. I took another one at 30s and it looks almost exactly the same.

Three weeks ago ABC was filming the Walt Disney World Christmas Special at Disneyland and we got to watch and be a part of the crowd. I'm looking forward to seeing Daniel Powter's performance because the street was not packed with people although there were at least 200-300 people standing near the stage. I probably won't be seen since my camera was in front of my face most of the time but you never know maybe there is a shot of my camera. :) He performed a song I had not heard before and still do not know what it is thee weeks later but it sounded great and I'm sure it will not disappoint.
yes, people were clapping to a beat and I admit I clapped a little too. :P
Here is a wide shot with the crowd.

This photo was taken about 15 mins before the shot with the cheerleaders. Lots of standing in place for the parade people but I'm sure it'll be cool to see themselves on TV Christmas day.
2 weeks ago at Disneyland, the Walt Disney World Christmas Special was filming the Christmas Parade. This is a shot of it actually moving; most of what I saw were participants standing in place waiting for filming to begin and then resetting and doing it over. Hannah Montana and Ryan Seacrest were supposed to be in the parade but not where I was standing plus I left after this photo was taken. The park was super crowded.

This photo was taken in the elevator at the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland; the theme has been changed for the holidays to Nightmare Before Christmas. If you haven't been on this ride during the holidays it's a must see.

I forgot to mention the inspiration for my photo posting. I recently read this article on photojojo and thought that is was a great idea; post a new photo each day to chronicle my year as well as trying to come up with new photo ideas. sadly I've discovered I don't have a lot of daylight free time which is limited what I shoot; this does not mean I'm giving up, it just means I'm not posting as many images as I thought I would be. I'm bringing my camera with me when I leave the house more now and I should get lots of "interesting" photos with posts at least a couple times a week. Feel free to comment about a photo here or on flickr.

I want to go here again; the entire drive up the mountains was fun with the windy roads and all the spots to stop along the way for a refreshing view. This particular photo was taken about 40 mins before the entire scene was covered with clouds; it was my lucky day :) although the long hike/walk up the mountain for the better view was both rewarding and disappointing because we saw what all the people heading down told us we would see, a beautiful view of the mountians and ocean but then 2 mins later the clouds swooped in and it was all white. I have 2 photos from up there that show more clouds than mountain and I have another picture of just clouds...lol. I can't wait to go to Kauai again.

Here's my latest panograph; it's #5 because #2-4 just looked ok and I'll chalk those up to being practice. Amy and I went to Disneyland the weekend before Halloween just in time to see the halloween decorations before they were taken down. We already noticed some Christmas decorations in New Orleans Square.
This panograph took about 5 mins to shoot because I had to keep waiting for people to move out of the way to snap a shot. I've now realized that after standing in line taking these pictures that we never had our own picture taken in front of it...lol. well next time.

Over the weekend Amy decorated a new cake and I continue to be impressed by her growing skills as a cake decorator. This is a close-up photo of the top of her Fall Cake; it is a cornucopia with pumpkins, gourds, corn, apples, grapes and all made of fondant.

Happy Halloween! I remember it always being fun to go out trick or treating and loading up on candy, then came the year when people started saying "Aren't you to old for this?", no more candy for me. Now I just buy it...woohoo!
This pumpkin spotted on Main Street in Disneyland.

I thought this was the most impressive waterfall we saw while in Hawaii this past summer. It's the closest we got to a large waterfall and it is one of the largest waterfalls we saw. It it located on the Hilo side of the Big Island and if you are drive from one side to the other it is not much of a detour. I forgot the exact highway numbers but I remember its location being on the rental car map. Check it out, no hiking required.

A few of my friends know that I like to wonder around while driving and getting lost is ok because I might find something interesting and new. This past August while looking for coffee farms in Kona on the big island of Hawaii we came across a blue sign that said "Painted Church"; This got my attention so I made the turn and started heading towards it wondering what we would see. We were surprised to find out it is a functioning catholic church and as you can see from the picture all the walls and ceiling are painted with murals. It is an interesting place to visit especially if you are checking out the local coffee farms.

Here is one of the better shots I got during the fire dance at the Luau Amy and I went to on our last night on Maui. He put on quite a show and was a great way to end the evening.

I discovered a neat feature on flickr this week called geotag; you can drag your picture to the spot it was taken at on a map! I think this could be a great tool for trip planning in the future; I will be able to check out picture for a place i will be visiting and possibly find sights not listed in a tour book.
I've noticed the lack of tagged pictures in Hawaii so I'll be adding some of my favorites from our trip in August. I'm shooting to get the pictures up this weekend.

My mission to post pictures on a regular basis is getting closer to being complete.
I setup my flickr account and added this photo; everything looks good so I should be starting soon.
once again more details to follow.

ok, ok I haven't posted anything for almost a year now but that doesn't really matter since I am the only one reading this. ;) Reminds me of the Sonic commercial where the guy says he is going to blog about his experience at Sonic because his readers will find it interesting. His friend points out that his mom is his only reader.
well here is the new plan. I am going to photo blog at least once a day; if there is a day without a post I will make up for that post the next day. I want to have a new image each day. more details will come shortly.
